The Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T.
exposing my double life, becoming a cult leader, & an FMC who wants to fuck a plane
Hi y’all! This week, I felt like Hannah Montana. What do I mean by that? Well, on the one hand, I was all, this is the life. I celebrated a friend’s birthday, hung out with my family, and went on a romantic date night with my husband. Professionally, I made a big, splashy announcement (more on that in a second), attended Female Fantasy book club meetings aka my favorite way to pass the time, and started working on my next book proposal in earnest.
But I was also very much living a double life.
If you’re new here, I struggle with a few different chronic digestive illnesses and autoimmune diseases (most notably EoE and Gastroparesis) and on Sunday, I was hit with a terrible flair. So, while I’ve been all, this is the dream online, I’ve been dealing with debilitating pain and consisting on a liquid diet offline. Not going to lie you guys: I’m currently writing to you from my bed, post-crash out, and I’m using my hot water bottle as a laptop stand. Very chic, very glam!
Alas, for every lowlight, there’s a highlight. On Tuesday, I was finally able to reveal the secret I’ve been teasing to y’all: I have officially joined the Sounds Like A Cult podcast as a new co-host!!! YAY!!!!!! As a long-time listener and fan of the pod, I am so impressed by what my dear friend Amanda has been able to build. My first episode drops next week and it’s covering a topic that is very near to my (and your) heart. I’m a little nervous about being perceived in this new and terrifying way. So, please lmk if you tune in <3 Here’s the report:
Reading: I read two and a half books this week and one of them was, most certainly, not a romance novel. I also finished 11 books in the month of January. Let’s debrief.
